Ecosol is a 100% Namibian owned company which aims to provide excellent environmental solutions to meet or exceed its clients' needs. Ecosol has been established by Mrs Kaatri Ndapanda Brumfitt, a young and previously disadvantaged Namibian Environmentalist with several years of environmental management and compliance experience within the coastal zone of Namibia. Mrs Brumfitt has proven skills and knowledge of sustainable development tools such as Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and Environmental Management Plans (EMP). In addition, her area of expertise includes Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) and Arid Ecology.
After completing her undergraduate studies, Mrs Brumfitt joined the Gobabeb Research and Training Centre (GRTC) for further training where she conducted research on restoration of the Namib Desert landscape. Prior to the establishment of Ecosol, Mrs Brumfitt worked at the Namibian Coast Conservation and Management (NACOMA) Project under the auspices of the Ministry of Environment and Tourism as the Coastal Environmental Officer. Mrs Brumfitt’s main responsibility was to support the Ministry of Environment and Tourism with the implementation of the Environmental Management Act (EMA) (No. 7 of 2007) along the coastal stretch of Namibia. While working at the NACOMA Project, Mrs Brumfitt was involved in the development of various national sustainable development instruments such as the Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) Bill for Namibia and Coastal Strategic Environmental Assessments for Namibia. Mrs Brumfitt has also been involved in various research projects focusing on elephant behaviour and strongyle parasites in the mighty Etosha National Park.
